Attention 8^th Grade Students.

It is with much excitement that we announce the Annual 8^th Grade Trip to Boston, MA. This year's trip to Boston will be from Thursday, April 10^th to Saturday, April 12^th. The total cost of this 2-night, 3-day experience will be approximately between $650 and $700 per student (exact costs are still being worked out by the tour company, as reservations and bookings are still being made). The cost covers transportation, lodging, some meals, private hotel security, all tours and attractions, and a T-shirt.

Criteria

You must have the following to participate on this trip:

1. Exemplary conduct (all ‘E’s in marking periods 1 and 2)

2. Passing of all subject classes

3. Satisfactory attendance, and do not have excessive lateness to school

If you meet all requirements and are interested in attending, please read about the selection process below. The follow is the first step of online registration:

Online registration will be open from Monday, February 10^th at 3:00 pm. It will remain open until Thursday, February 13^that 10:00 pm. Access is75.org and click "Payment & Registration." Select "Boston Trip 2025 Registration" and submit the required information.

You must bring a paper copy of your second marking period report card to Ms. LaRocca in Room 333 by Friday, February 14^th. If it is found that a student has received a conduct grade lower than an E, an academic grade below a 65 in any class, or has excessive absences/lateness, the student will not be eligible to attend the trip.

· To access your report cards, log in to your “NYC Schools Account.” Any student who registers but fails to bring a copy of his/her report card to Ms. LaRocca by February 14^th will be removed from consideration.

After registration closes, and all academic and conduct grades have been verified, Ms. LaRocca will email all 8th Grade teachers for recommendations. If it is reported that a student is failing a class or receiving a conduct below an “E” for the 3^rd marking period, that student will be removed from consideration.

A website will then generate a list of eligible students chosen at random to attend the trip. There are 80 seats available. Those who do not make the list of 80 will be placed on a wait list.

If you are approved to attend the Boston Trip, you will be notified. Additional paperwork will be sent home throughout the planning process requesting payment, lodging groups, the date for a mandatory parent meeting, and other information.

Please note the following:

The rooming arrangements will be limited to triples (3 students) and quads (4 students) only. Single and double rooms will not be available. Please have an idea of your hotel group upon registration, you will be asked to submit this later in the planning process.

This trip is a privilege for students who have demonstrated exemplary grades, behavior, and punctuality.
